HR Manager – 12-month FTC

We’re an award-winning games studio known for producing dark storytelling titles such as the BAFTA-winning Until Dawn, the cinematic masterclass of The Dark Pictures Anthology, the multi-award-winning The Quarry, the world of Little Nightmares and many more!

We’re now looking for an HR Manager to join our team on-site in Guildford on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This exciting hands-on opportunity will be crucial in shaping our studio’s day-to-day HR operations to ensure everything runs seamlessly; a truly hands-on tactical HR role!

Here’s just a snippet of what you’ll be up to:

  • Oversee and manage all daily HR functions/
  • Manage and mentor the HR team to ensure they’re well supported and have plenty of opportunities for career growth and development
  • Develop clear policies and processes across the whole employee lifecycle, implementing and communicating effectively across the studio as required
  • Work closely with
    • HR Advisor to act as support or point of escalation for ER cases and general guidance
    • HR Administrator to review and assess all HR team processes and systems to ensure fit-for-purpose and as streamlined as possible
    • Recruitment Lead to collaborate on recruitment initiatives and activities
    • Head of HR to support and implement new projects or initiatives
  • Provide advice, support, and coaching to line managers and employees

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven HR experience in an SME environment, preferably in creative or tech industries
  • Strong generalist background covering the full spectrum of HR functions
  • Great leadership and team management skills – experience of managing HR team/s
  • A pragmatic and hands-on approach to work, with a clear focus on the value of principles over process
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – highly personable, enthusiastic and empathetic
  • Skilled in creating internal communications to promote and maintain a friendly, informal yet professional tone of voice
  • Tech-savvy with ability to pick up new systems easily – ideally with experience of configuring, implementing and launching new systems
  • Solid understanding of UK employment laws, regulations and best practices
