The Story

Supermassive Games is looking for a highly talented and enthusiastic Maya Generalist to play a key role in the studio.

The primary role of this position is to support the art pipeline for the team, as well as working closely with the art team to improve the quality and efficiency of the content workflow.

Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Technical Artist
  • Good understanding of Maya, including scripting in Python and MEL
  • In-depth knowledge of art pipelines from Maya to game


Key skills and responsibilities

  • Creating tools and scripts in Maya that support the art pipeline
  • Debugging and fixing assets, tools and scripts
  • Basic technical/coding knowledge to be able to work with the programmers
  • Foresee potential issues and communicate effectively to department leads
  • Critique assets on an ongoing basis to drive continual improvement and ensure quality across the game within defined budgets


Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Maya
  • Python.
  • MEL

  • Additional knowledge of any of the following would be an advantage:

  • Maya API
  • Python QT
  • C#
  • HLSL/GLSL
  • Maya Materials
  • A variety of commercial Game Engines


The candidate should have:
