We're expanding our HR team and looking for an HR Advisor - could it be you?

Whilst primarily responsible for supporting employees and line managers with HR-related queries, the HR Advisor will also support and assist the HR Manager with a number of projects and initiatives to enhance and further improve the HR service and people experience within the studio.

The Role:

  • Build strong working relationships with line managers, supporting, coaching, and advising on HR-related queries, escalating to the HR Manager where necessary
  • Take ownership of people queries, providing advice and guidance to individuals, and engaging with relevant departments to ensure a comprehensive response is provided back to the employee in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Support the HR Manager with the development and introduction of new and existing policies, procedures, and processes for HR in line with legislation
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Administrator to ensure HRIS is being fully utilised, and processes are digitised wherever possible
  • Day-to-day responsibility for ED&I initiatives, working closely with external partners, ensuring regular communication is maintained, and initiatives for improvement are both meaningful and impactful across the studio
  • Assist the HR Manager with, and take a lead on small/medium projects to support the continuous improvement in HR service delivery, including:
    • Review and update of employee handbook
    • Refresh of all HR-related letter and email templates
    • IR35 audit and process
    • Review of performance management process
    • Career development programmes
    • Statutory reporting, such as Gender Pay Gap
  • Utilise HR systems to access, track, manage and compile data and insights, providing regular reports to the HR Manager
  • Assist with, and produce engaging HR communications on an ad hoc basis
  • Deal professionally with confidential information and discuss sensitive issues discretely and thoughtfully; whilst adhering to data protection legislation
  • Keep up to date with changing legislation, highlighting areas for review and focus to the HR Manager

Requirements:

  • Proven experience at HR Advisor level (ideally within a creative or technology focused industry, but not essential)
  • Beneficial if CIPD qualified to at least Level 5, however demonstrable practical experience is more important
  • Ability to objectively balance the needs of the business with supporting individuals' needs
  • A value for principles over process
  • Highly personable and enthusiastic
  • Strong communication skills: easily able to adapt style, tone, and body language to suit the audience, and adept at a variety of different writing styles
  • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy
  • A creative and innovative thinker, able to identify where improvements can be made and establish steps to get there
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, able to prioritise workload and comfortable adapting to changing priorities
  • A pragmatic and hands-on approach to work – happy to get involved to help wherever needed
  • Confident with new systems and technology, comfortable with MS Office 365 suite
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and legislation
