We’re looking for a Principal Gameplay Engineer to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a high-impact contribution, as an expert in your field, this role is perfect if you want to remain hands-on whilst supporting others and help shaping technical direction.

This is a fixed term contract until November 2026 (we therefore cannot offer sponsorship for this vacancy) 

Here’s just a snippet of what you’ll be up to:

  • Act as a leading technical expert, providing deep engineering insight Principal
  • Deliver robust, maintainable, high-quality code across complex, interconnected gameplay and engine systems
  • Tackle the unique technical challenges including bespoke frameworks and internal mesh networking.
  • Guide architectural decisions involving Core Unreal Actor/Component systems and GAS driven workflows.
  • Identify and solve complex technical risks, ensuring reliability, performance, and long-term stability.
  • Drive improvements to performance, profiling, workflows, tools, and engineering practices across the project and studio.
  • Collaborate closely with design, art, production, and technical leadership to ensure features meet creative and technical goals.
  • Mentor and develop engineers across the craft, raising technical standards and supporting growth.  

What we’re looking for:

  • Familiarity with replication/networking and physics in a live setting
  • Core Unreal Actor and Component structure including GAS is fundamental
  • Knowledge of sequencer and sequencer-based workflows
  • Expertise in profiling both with Insights and CSV and LLM optimisation for performance
  • Unreal Engine game feature plugin structure, and core engine architecture understanding
  • Gen9, Gen8, PC and mobile cross platform development would be ideal
