Game Designer

We’re after some game designers to join the team at Supermassive Games. You’ll need to be an all round designer, able to tackle game features, mechanics and be familiar with the level building and scripting process in one or more commercially available 3D game engines

We're after someone with the ability to:

  • Design compelling gameplay & construct the player experience
  • Create prototypes and realize new game features
  • Build white-box levels
  • Script levels/missions, gameplay events and cinematic sequences
  • Integrate data
  • Create AI control, inc. pathing, events, navigation etc.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Great technical skills with a number of available game engines and level building tools and their scripting languages
  • The ability to build and iterate gameplay spaces
  • A great understanding of crafting compelling user experiences
  • Understand spatial streaming constraints and design with them in mind
  • A feel for narrative and the ability to interweave story into play experiences
  • Demonstrate experience of a collaborative approach to game making, show how you worked together with 
the other disciplines/team members to realize the best possible game play experience
  • The ability to balance and adjust gameplay experiences
  • A logical approach and solid problem solving skills
  • A passion for games of all types
  • The desire and knowledge to push for quality!

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • A great portfolio game work that speaks to our key requirements 

  • At least one year design experience in a team, working on a published 
  • A Cinematic Eye!
